Open Studio & Memberships

Sometimes you just want to play with clay—and we completely get it! That’s why we’re excited to open our studio to experienced artists and community members. Drop in during regular business hours to get your hands dirty, relieve stress, explore a new craft, or make lasting memories with friends!

This is also the perfect opportunity for students who have completed at least four classes to keep practicing between sessions. Check out our 4-week courses to join the next round.

Welcome to Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio

We hope you will find our space inviting and inspiring! Enjoy the feel of our community space to create your own pottery. With pottery wheels and hand building inside and a large garden area space outdoors, a potter can really enjoy their time! Experience is necessary as this is on your own time. At Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio we do require that our open studio and members have had at least 4 classes at our studio. Our open studio includes 1lb of B-Mix clay to start and you can purchase additional clay as you like. We have a variety of clay for you to choose from in studio. Only clay purchased through Mud Hen may be used, we will not fire outside clay. All firing costs are determined based on the size of your pieces.

Open Studio $15 per hour

Our open studio includes 1lb of clay to start and you can purchase additional clay as you like. First firing is included. Come back to glaze for an additional fee. Additional hours can be added at $15/hour thereafter.

Monthly Membership- $199 for unlimited visits

Our monthly includes a 25 lb bag of clay and unlimited visits. Storage shelf. Use of studio space, tools and equipment. Firing included, up to a 10" x 22" shelf ever 2 weeks. Additional clay can be purchased. Monthly membership is billed monthly and is recurring until you cancel it. We ask for a weeks notice before the next membership fee is billed for cancelling.

Open studio and memberships are on a first come first serve basis and studio space may not always be available during classes and groups. The studio space is not available for outisde teaching. Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing you soon!

There is such a welcoming atmosphere at the studio! We were lucky enough to experience a "clay date" at the original studio location and recently took a wheel class where we practiced centering and made a few pieces.
